No Power Interruptions sa May 9 elections, sinigurado ng NGCP

Sinigurado ng National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) na handa ito upang mapanatili ang magandang supply ng kuryente sa May 9 national at local elections upang maging maayos, malaya, tahimik at malinis ang eleksyon.
Sa briefing na isinagawa ng NGCP sa mga lokal na mamamahayag noong April 22 sa D’Mariner’s Hotel., ipinabatid ng ahensya ang Contingency Plan nito bago, habang at pagkatapos ng eleksyon upang maiwasan o agad matugunan ang anumang posibleng problema kagaya ng power interruption, power shortage, weather disturbance at iba pa
Layunin ng NGCP na masiguro na ang contingency measures ay tumutugon sa anumang insidente na nakakaapekto sa tuloy tuloy na transmission ng kuryente sa panahon ng eleksyon at maseguro rin ang maayos na daloy ng impormasyon sa loob ng NGCP upang ang mga ahensya ng pamahalaan, power customers at ang media ay maging “well-informed” tungkol sa operational status ng transmission grid.
Ito ay alinsunod sa Resolution No. 10067 ng Commission on Elections kung saan dine deputize ang Department of Energy, Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources, Dept. of Public Works and Highways, Department of Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police,, Dept. of National Defense, Armed Forces of the Philippines at iba pang law enforcement agencies na tulungan ang NGCP na secure ang transmission ng kuryente sa buong bansa upang magkaroon ng isang maayos na eleksyon.
Sa Power Outlook Summary na ipineresenta ng NGCP para sa buong Luzon, may available capacity na 9,807 megawatts ng kuryente sa May 8 at 9, at 10,565 MW sa May 10 habang may system load na 7,985 MW sa May 8, 7,564 MW sa May 9, at 9,537 MW sa May 10. Ang gross reserve ay 1,822 MW sa May 8, 2,243 MW sa May 9, at 810 sa May 10.
Ayon kay Regional Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Officer Randy Barnuevo, handa ang kanilang mga command center, control centers, substations, transmission,control and communication facilties. Handa rin ang “deployment of maintenance personnel in strategic areas, availability and prepositioning of spares, commitment of Generator on voltage regulation.”
Idinagdag pa ni Telesforo Guieb, Head ng District 1 ng South Luzon O&M, na mayroon silang sapat na suplay at reserba ng kuryente mula May 8 hanggang 10. Binigyang diin ni Election Assistant Liz Gualberto na ‘’hindi magiging dahilan ng dayaan sa halalan ang pagkawala ng kuryente sapagkat may standby generators at battery na tatagal mula sa botohan hanggang sa canvassing.”
Dumalo sa nabanggit na pagtitipon si DILG City Director Amor San Gabriel, mga kinatawan ng Batangas City COMELEC, Batangas City Police at City Environment Office. Nagpahayag din si SPO4 Jayne Gonda na gagawin ng kapulisan ang lahat ng kanilang makakaya upang mapanatili ang katahimikan at kaayusan sa araw ng eleksyon. (PIO Batangas City)
