City Mayor Eduardo B. Dimacuha together with Congressman Ranie Abu; DPWH 2nd District Engr. Carlito Jose and Engr. Sonia Pagcaliwagan; and the managers of Shell, La Farge, JG Summit, San Miguel sought an audience with the Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Secretary Rogelio Singson, at Port Area, Manila at about 2:00 PM, January 28, 2015.

Secretary Singson informed Mayor Dimacuha that a Notice to Proceed has been issued by his office and that in 7 to 8 months, the rehabilitation and repair of Calumpang Bridge is expected to be completed. Mobilization , accordingly is underway.

Congr. Abu with the department heads of the City Government, City Administrator Philip Baroja, Chief of Staff Atty. RD, Engr. Sonny Godoy, Engr. Adela B . Hernandez presented the proposed Traffic Management Plan that will develop access road from Tabangao to PPA and from San Isidro to STAR Tollway.

The Secretary noted the presentation and advised the group to ensure that this will be the “best alignment” and that it would be feasible and less expensive. He added that DPWH is committed towards this project. However, he said that this necessitates the support of the local government and the private sector. (With reports from Marie V.
