ABC President Dondon A. Dimucuha noted with appreciation the report of PIO Letty Chua regarding the best practice of Maharlika East, Tagaytay City which could also benefit the Top 20 Barangays of Batangas City with high prevalence of malnutrition. The Board of Directors of ABC held its regular meeting yesterday, February 12 where Ms. Lucy Manalo (Nutrition Office) and Ms. Chua were invited.

Maharlika East was awarded the 2014 Best Barangay Nutrition Committee (national level) by the National Nutrition Council and was the subject of study tour of Communication Network for Nutrition- CALABARZON recently, where Ms. Chua is an active member.
The BNS of the said barangay, Ms. Femia Javier was given the award, 2014 Most Outstanding BNS (national level).

Former Mayor Dondon is planning to conduct a study tour in Maharlika East to further enhance the nutrition programs of the Top 20 Barangays as reported by Ms. Lucy Manalo. Two from each barangay will be included in the study tour, namely, the Barangay Captain or his representative and the Barangay Nutrition Scholar.
