Subdivisions
At present, there are one hundred seven (107) residential subdivisions in the city, wherein forty-five (45) were approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod per R.A. 7160 and the other sixty-two (62) were already existing subdivisions prior to the passage of RA 7160. These subdivision lots are being sold with current prices ranging from P 5,000.00 to P 12,000.00 per square meter.
Informal Settlers
Majority of informal settlers in Batangas City can be found in government lots. Portions of barangay Sta. Clara and the non-functional railroad track of the Philippine National Railways from Barangay 24 up to Balagtas and barangays Calicanto and Bolbok are presently occupied by informal settlers. Informal settlers can also be found in barangay Sta. Clara, Cuta and Malitam particularly near the coastline and along riverbank in barangay Balagtas.
There are five (5) existing resettlement areas in the city which included the San Jose Sico Relocation Site owned by the city government and the Balete Relocation Site which was implemented by the Philippine Ports Authority in collaboration with the Batangas City government and other concerned national government agencies relative to the Batangas Port Development Project. The other resettlement areas are Sta. Rita Relocation Site at barangay Sta. Rita Aplaya, Tabangao Ambulong Relocation Site at barangay Tabangao Ambulong and the three (3) resettlement areas through private initiatives Bagong Umaga at barangay Tinga Labac, Tulo Relocation Site at barangay Tulo and the First Gen Relocation Site in Sta. Rita Karsada/Aplaya.
