What is MBBC?

  • Forward-looking perspective, driven by a dynamic work ethic, open to engagement with all sectors

Brief History

One of the first initiatives undertaken by the emerging club was to collaborate with the city government to create a joint public-private preparatory committee in preparation for the December 11, 2013 Batangas Business Forum, an event which aimed to showcase Batangas City as an investment destination.


MISSION

To encourage, foster, and stimulate the discussion and exchange of ideas between businessmen, professionals, and the citizenry on subjects, issues, or matters of interest or concern to them; to obtain and distribute beneficial and reliable information on the affairs or activities of the business community relative to the individual and collective interests of its members with each other and the general welfare; to stimulate, encourage and promote cooperation and friendly exchange among businessmen, government officials, and the citizenry; to acquaint and inform the public of its objectives and to stimulate public opinion and reaction to its projects by providing information and engaging in civic, educational, commercial, industrial, social and business activities.

To become the champion of economic progress in the Province of Batangas committed to responsible, equitable and sustainable development.


PRIORITY SECTORS

The core group created was based on the priority sectors identified by the city wherein a point person was assigned for each (2013) INFRASTRUCTURE – Gemina F. Buenaflor, SM INDUSTRY – Ramon J. Araneta, First Gas HUMAN RESOURCE – Vicente Bernardo V. Mayo, Jr., UB TOURISM – Fely T. Ramos, Pontefino Hotel AGRICULTURE – Roel Cao Garcia, Batangas City Yellow Corn Growers Association, Inc. In 2014 another sector was added RETAIL – Marc Ranier Go, Citimart Group of Companies )

Preparatory Committee

The core group was tasked to coordinate with the City and with INVEST for the City Business Forum Regular meetings were rotated among the members Meeting with Atty. Dimacuha to discuss plans for the Business Forum (October 16, 2013)
