Mandate:

The Office of the Internal Audit Service (IAS) is hereby created under virtue of Administrative Order No. 278 dated April 28, 1992 and reiterated in Administrative Order No. 70 dated April 14, 2003. The IAS shall strengthen the Internal Control System of the City Government of Batangas Without intruding into the authority and mandate of the Commission on Audit (COA) and its primary functions.

Vision:

A functional and operational IAS that renders regular and timely audits and recommendations to support the City Government of Bataugas 's thrust towards good governance, processes, and best practices to its constituents.

Mission:

To greatly assist the City Government of Batangas in fulfilling its mandate on good governance by strengthening accountability, ensuring ethical, economical, efficient and effective operations, and improving the quality and quantity of outputs to better respond to the public needs.

Service Pledge:
The department is committed to add value and improve the operations of the city government in accomplishing its objectives by:

1. Improving the effectiveness of risk management, controls, and government processes;
2. Instilling public confidence in the city's ability to operate effectively; and
3. Strengthening mechanisms to ensure the accountability of the city to its constituents.
