LOOK: Shell Pilipinas Corporation culminated the rolling out of the Master of Disaster (MOD) program in Batangas City at the Schools Division Office (SDO) last September 6.

MOD is a disaster preparedness board game which is an original initiative of Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST).

Aimed at children ages 9 and above, the board game addresses the vulnerability of the Philippines to natural disasters such as earthquakes, typhoons, and teaches kids critical skills such as the value of helping others and how to respond to each disaster.

The event was attended by Mayor Beverley Dimacuha represented by Vice Mayor Alyssa Cruz where she expressed her gratitude to the partnership of Shell Pilipinas Corporation and ASSIST for selecting Batangas City to hold its series of rollouts, highlighting its role in enhancing children’s disaster preparedness awareness.

Through the partnership, the MOD program successfully reached 8,100 students across 16 elementary schools and trained more than 300 teachers on MOD and disaster preparedness.

Selected teachers from the participating schools shared their unique experiences with the board game’s rollout in their respective schools.
Shell Pilipinas VP for Corporate Relations Serge Bernal, announced the continuation of ASSIST’s partnership with Shell Pilipinas Corporation to have a second batch of rollouts in Batangas City.
