Batangas City Launches Digital Democracy Initiative with Hybrid Opening Assembly

Batangas City marked a significant milestone in its civic engagement efforts with the hybrid opening assembly of the Digital Democracy Initiative, held at Sampaguita Farm, Brgy. Sampaga, July 19.
The event combined in-person attendance and virtual participation via Zoom, ensuring broad accessibility and engagement.
The assembly brought together various stakeholders, including representatives from civil society organizations (CSOs), business leaders, youth advocates, academic figures, and cultural affairs influencers. Among the esteemed participants was Peter John Caringal, Vice Chairperson of the Cultural Affairs Committee, who joined the event to underscore its cultural and social importance.
A pivotal moment during the assembly was the signing of the Pledge of Support and Commitment to the Digital Democracy Initiative. This symbolic act demonstrated the unified dedication of all participants toward advancing digital democracy in Batangas City.
Key highlights of the event included the Statement of Purpose delivered by City Administrator Engr. Januario "Sonny" Godoy emphasized the initiative's objectives and community benefits.
The assembly was further enriched by an inspiring opening speech from City Mayor Beverley Rose Dimacuha, underscoring the city's commitment to innovation and inclusivity.“
