Karagdagang COVID-19 vaccines, hihilingin ni Mayor Dimacuha sa national government

Hihilingin ni Mayor Beverley Dimacuha sa pamamagitan ng pagliham kina Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque at COVID-19 Vaccine Czar Secretary Carlito Galvez na mabigyan ng karagdagang alokasyon ng COVID- 19 vaccines ang Batangas City.
Ito ay dahil 5% pa lamang ng 266,000 target na mabakunahang residente ng lungsod para makamit ang herd immunity, ang nakakatanggap ng bakuna ayon kay City Health Officer Dr. Rosanna Barrion.
Ayon sa latest na COVID vaccination report, nasa 12,000 residente pa lamang ang nabigyan na ng nasabing bakuna. Kabilang sa mga nabakunahan ng 1st dose ng vaccine mula sa national government ang 10,662 senior citizens o yaong mga nasa A2 category at 1,308 na mga frontliners o medical workers na kabilang sa A1 priority group.
Nasa 1,000 sa mga ito ay nabigyan na ng 2nd dose ng bakuna. Binigyang diin ni Dr. Barrion na target ng City Health Office (CHO) na mabakunahan ang may 40,000 senior citizens at target nila na makapagbakuna ng 1,000 residente kada araw. Inihahanda na rin nila ang pagbabakuna sa A3 priority group o yaong mga may co-morbidities.
Inaasahan namang darating sa 3rd o 4th quarter ng taon ang COVID-19 vaccines na binibili ng pamahalaang lungsod. Magugunita na naglaan ng P 200 milyon budget si Mayor Dimacuha para dito.
Tinitiyak naman ng CHO na maayos ang sistema at implementasyon ng health at safety protocols sa vaccination site. (PIO Batangas City)
